Game Concept
Work in Progress Title – Tank Force
Concept Statement
Players are planned to fight through several levels with different enemies getting progressively harder but with the help of new weapons that players can obtain. Every couple of levels the player will encounter big bosses that must be defeated to progress toward defeating the last boss on level 100.
Genre Concept
Tank Force is planned to be a top-down shooter game with arcade style progression. Players will have to dodge incoming fire from enemies while trying to shoot at said enemies to progress through the game’s levels. Bringing fast pace action and smart movement together that will have players coming back to try and best the game.
Concept Creation
The idea for Tank Force stems from two games, the first being Tank Trouble in 2015. This game is a top-down tank shooting game created as an internet browser game that could be played solo, with friends or online in which everyone is trying to be the last man standing, using a multitude of weaponry destruction was the only thing guaranteed.

The second being a minigame found in Wii Play, a game for the Nintendo Wii. This minigame had the player control a tank to try and destroy all the enemies to progress until stage 20 with increasingly more challenging levels and enemies. Most of Tank Force is based on this game.

Target Audience
This game is targeted toward all gamers new and old and even non-gamers as anyone will be able to pick up and play along with enjoy but with a high skill ceiling this game will challenge experienced players to not leave them bored. With the way it records the level and lives as a score it will encourage players to have a another try just to get a bit further then themselves and/or others increasing replay value.
Gameplay Mechanics
This games mechanics will be using tank controls with the mouse used for shooting projectiles that will bounce off walls with a limited number of shots. There may be the ability to lay mines to stop enemies moving closer to the area, but the catch is, is that most enemies can do the exact same moves and attacks meaning it is up to the player to use expert positioning, timing, and skill to get to the end.
Progression will be achieved by defeating all the enemies in the given level while the player has a limited number of retries in case they die on a stage, restarting that stage. However, if the player loses all their retries then its game over and the players stage count is saved.
Concept Ideas
All in-game sprite assets are going to be made and imported for an online free pixel art software known as Piskel. https://www.piskelapp.com/
